Indonesian Coastal Shipping

In 2006 AMSTEC was contracted by PT Pelayaran Meratus Shipping of Surabaya Indonesia to modify and develop a business structure, strategic and business plan, budget controls and strategic vision and direction on profit planning for their coastal shipping business. In addition investigation into new market opportunities was designed to provide a launch into niche International service route that would complement Meratus size, capabilities and knowledge of the Indonesian trading environment
The primary objective of the project is to inform Meratus on;
1. How to improve overall performance on operations and profitability.
2. Yield management, cost and profitability per container / unit.
3. Identify new business opportunities which add value to existing business.
4. Provide comprehensive review and report on potential improvements to business practices
including business and strategic planning, performance management and risk analysis.
Specific objectives for follow up Stage 2, following agreement to proceed;
1. Implementation assistance for change management processes and procedures within internal
and external business activities.
2. Design and develop and assist with implementing business planning, budget disciplines,
reporting protocols and other business tools.
3. Assist with strategic planning for future growth and development of new business ventures.
